3.1.3.1.4 Cockpit variant creation

Variants allow data to be saved on the selection screen that is in constant or temporary use, allowing the user to save time and avoid errors in continuous and repetitive data entry.

The procedure for creating variants in the 'Cockpit SII' consists of the following steps:

1.- Header data

When accessing the 'Cockpit SII', enter the data at the header level that will be saved by the variant.

In this case:

Company code: ‘TCH1

Alarm search: ‘C Search with alarms’

Batch search: ‘T Display all associated batches

Once these data are indicated, we will press the 'Save' button.

2.- Navigating to the 'Variant Attributes' window

After pressing the 'Save' button the 'Variant attributes' screen is presented, which has all the fields available in all the 'Cockpit SII' tabs, divided into 'Selection screen' (WebDynpro) as following:

  • Header data - 'Selection screen: 0011'

  • Data in the 'Search by FI/eDocument document' tab - 'Selection screen: 0012'

Corresponding tab:

  • Data in the ‘Search by AEAT invoice ID’ tab – 'Selection screen: 0013'

Corresponding tab:

  • Data in the ‘Batch search' tab – ‘Selection screen: 0014

Corresponding tab:

  • ‘Hidden fields– ‘Selection screen: 0015

The 'Selection screen: 0015' contains hidden fields. Therefore, it is recommended to check/flag it to avoid data saving errors when creating the variant.

  • Data in the ‘Search by logistics document’ tab - 'Selection screen: 0025'

Corresponding tab:

3.- Recording data in variant

Enter the data to be saved by the variant.

In this case, data is entered at the header level and in some of the fields of the 'Search by FI document/eDocument' selection tab.

Once the data to be saved by the variant has been entered, press the 'Save' button to navigate to the 'Variant Attributes' screen.

4.- Flagging of 'Selection screens'

Once the ‘Variant atributes’ screen is presented, a name must be entered for the variant in the 'Variant Name' field, as well as a description in the 'Description' field to facilitate its identification among other variants.

A variant saves the data entered in the ‘Selection screen' (WebDynpro) that has been flagged/checked. Therefore, if it is required to save the data entered at the header level and in the fields of the 'Search by FI document/eDocument' tab, the corresponding 'Selection screens' must be selected/flagged.

Press the 'Save’ button to complete variant creation.

5.- Recovery of the created variant

Access the 'Cockpit SII', enter any company code or the asterisk symbol (*) and press the 'Obtain variant' button.

Select the previously created variant.

The variant recovers the data that was entered at the header level and in the fields of the 'Search by FI document/eDocument' selection tab, at the time of its creation.

Variant creation with data in different tabs

In the case of the 'Cockpit SII', it is recommended to create a specific variant for each tab, since this prevents data filtering by criteria entered in other tabs that the user might not be aware of.

However, a variant can save data entered on different tabs.

For this, it is only necessary to flag the 'Selection screens' that correspond to the tabs in which the data to be saved by the variant has been entered.
