1.2.5. SFTP User, configuration and log folder

For best practices, we need to create a group and user in such a way that we can manage all users who have SFTP access.
 
Create folder with configuration files

Create a folder and decompress within it the configuration files provided in the file "com.techedge.zip".
It is important, if there are multiple instances of SAP PI, to be copied to all of them or to a shared folder.

The installation of the "B+ SII" software in SAP PI middelware also requires the deployment of some files in the filesystems of the server where PI is installed. These files are in a compressed file in zip format (called "Techedge.zip").

This compressed file basically contains XML schema validation files (xsd extension), XML transformations (XSL extension) and other resources such as style sheets (css extension) and images (jpg extension).
The resources contained in the archive must be decompressed to a location within the local File System of the server.

In case of having a cluster installation, it is necessary to decompress the file in each node that is part of the cluster, taking care that each node is deployed in the same destination path.
On the other hand it is advisable that the destination route is not excessively long for a greater ease of development and maintenance of the scenarios that are configured.

Create folder for log files
Create a folder for the solution to write the Technical Log. This Technical Log will only be activated to analyze possible incidents.
Estimated worst size in case: 1 GB
It is important, if there are multiple instances of SAP PI, to be copied to all of them or to a shared folder.

Create a user for SFTP access to the previous folder (For any read, write, delete ...) operation for the project team.
